Alright, so let’s get started by getting one thing straight.
I have absolutely no idea what my title means. I made it up. Pure nonsense. But it sure rolls off the tongue well, right?
Hopefully by now some of you will have checked out what is being proclaimed as “the most attractive accent in the fitness world” on my last blog post. Really, everyone’s saying it. Ok, fine, it’s just me.
But seriously, here’s a quick update with what’s been going on in my world:
Thanksgiving was great. Got to spend some time with the family and eat some good meat which is always a fun activity.
Life and fitness are going well for me - I’m getting ever closer to really nailing a full range of motion single leg squat, which is pretty exciting. That’s the mecca of bodyweight leg training, so I’m excited to get there and start banging out reps of real world functional strength. In fact, I’ll be doing a blog post at some point in the future about how to build up the strength to achieve the single leg squat. Remind me to do that soon.
The video is coming soon, I promise! I also have a couple of cool ebooks, training courses and other websites all in the works, so big things are on the way. Keep your eyes peeled!
Now I know that I promised about 3 posts ago to do a post about glute activation in my very next post, and have now failed to deliver on that 3 times in a row. Bad me. I promise you, those videos WILL be coming.
But before we get there, I wanted to discuss one topic that was brought up in a comment on a previous post that I thought was an excellent point and one that I had not really considered fully. However, it’s going to be extremely relevant to most people.
The question is: if I try my glutes, aren’t they going to get HUGE???
A very valid question indeed! No one really wants a huge derriere, so why would I do an exercise that makes them bigger?
The answer, as is usually the case in the world of fitness, lies in the grey area between the black and white that most people dwell in. Simply put, training your glutes will increase their size to some degree. It’s inevitable.
BUT, and this is a huge but (pun intended), it WILL NOT increase their size in the way you’re thinking. Many people, women especially, think that increased size means increased width. But I’m here to tell you right now, your glutes will not get wider from training them. Guaranteed.
They will, however, gain more depth. This means that instead of your butt looking wider and larger, it will instead look firmer, more muscular, rock hard, and so forth. Now correct me if I’m wrong, but these are usually characteristics that are viewed positively, not negatively, when it comes to body composition.
Essentially, you will be chiseling yourself a pair of glutes that are hard as a rock. And, you’ll be improving your back health at the same time.
Can’t really ask for more than that, can you?
Glute training is where it’s at. Trust me. It is the single most important training area for all the working professionals and office workers out there who sit at desks all day long and/or suffer from low back pain.
Get those glutes activated and get them strong, and watch your whole body transform before your eyes.
The glutes are the keys to the universe. And soon, after watching my videos, the keys will be in your hands.
Who ever said poetry and fitness didn’t mix?

Hi Yudi,
I came across your website and found some information useful. Well done website
Just wondering if you could give me advice. I have been feeling bloaded lately and also gaining weight. I have started working out more but it doesnt seem to be working. I know water is essential but it makes me feel more bloaded. Is there anything I can do to minimize my bloating so I can drink more water and lose weight. I have gained 8 pounds in the last few weeks and don;t know why.
Your suggestions would be appreciated regarding bloading problem and losing weight/body fat.
Thanks,
Lucia

Hi Lucia,
Thanks so much for your great comment.
As regards your question, here’s my advice:
Firstly, are you sure that you haven’t suddenly started eating something that you are slightly allergic to? That may not be the case, but with such a recent increase in your weight, coupled with the bloating, it’s possible that it may be some type of inflammation or allergic reaction. Think hard about whether you have changed anything in your diet or lifestyle lately.
Secondly, you will probably feel a little more bloated from the water at first but if you keep drinking it will definitely go away. Water retention is a major factor affecting bloating and there are two things that cause that: 1) not drinking enough and 2) too much sodium. So check your sodium intake as well and cut that right down if you can.
Also, as regards working out - remember, more isn’t always better! See some of my later posts about interval training and try that out - you can spend much less time working out and yet still get a way better fat loss effect from your workouts.
Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions!
Take care,
Yudi
